Hello Jim,

I’m in touch with you though your sister, Mary. She and I have a special relationship. She told a friend, of both of ours, about 5 babies being born at the Methodist Mission Home in Texas, available for adoption, back in February 1989. Our sweet Noah, Feb. 7.

Mary and I recently became Facebook friends. She saw my posts about our group, Reunite Migrant Families, Hudson Valley, NY. Five of us have been to Brownsville and Matamoros, pre- pandemic.

Our group now offers a variety of support to many immigrant families in our area. We are also helping the 110 men who were bused last week to our area from NYC. And more are coming.

I’m so impressed with your video shown at a library (Mary sent it) and all the amazing support and work you do.

We are near Vassar College and if you’re in our area, we can arrange a gathering at Vassar, to meet you, show your video, share with us all.

Thank you,

Diane Boujikian

Thank you, Diane! Mary told me about you and said she would forward the video to you. It's nice to have the Brownsville/Matamoros connection with someone else from New York! And it's comforting to know your group is continuing the work near home. I've tried to follow updates from Team TLC NYC and Grannies Respond, which I believe is based in Beacon. There are so many in need of solidarity and kindness, as you know. Many hands make light(er) work, right?
